I stumbled upon Bhavya and her beautiful jewelry years ago at Ripe Market and have been a loyal customer ever since. Over the years, I have bought countless gifts to friends and family from the brand and they have all been well-received. Dori pieces are so eye-catching and well-made, we always get asked about them! I have literally watched the brand grow – I have seen it go from market pop ups to launching their own website and shipping internationally – and I am very proud of how far it has come.
Dori jewelry are captivating, season-less statement pieces that can be worn on all occasions. Bhavya, the founder, is behind the contemporary jewelry designs and they are all hand-crafted in Jaipur, a beautiful city in India that I have had the pleasure of visiting 9 years ago. I was initially drawn to the unique statement pieces and raw, semi-precious stones, way before I knew what sustainable and ethical fashion was all about. Now that I am working on becoming a more conscious consumer, I am happy to know that every purchase made from Dori supports Indian artisans in keeping their craftsmanship alive and providing them with a fair platform to share their work. Everything about the brand is well-thought out. All pieces are hypoallergenic (nickel-free), 18k gold-plated and include raw, semi-precious stones that are ethically and locally sourced when possible. Even the pouches used for packaging are repurposed from Sarees made by rural women in Rajasthan.
Dori jewelry is limited edition by nature – all pieces are produced in small batches; only 3 pieces are made from each design, and they are not always launched at the same time, so the chance of you running into someone wearing the same pieces is practically nil. In fact, when pieces do not get sold, their metal is melted down and their stones are repurposed. On the flip side, if the design you want is sold out/unavailable or you have something particular in mind, the brand is open to custom orders.
