Trauma, especially developmental, robs a person of a sense of self, a well-defined image and feel of who they are. Survival mechanisms become so habituated and ingrained, they form a counterfeit identity where authenticity, needs, desires, opinions, limits and boundaries take a back seat. If the ensuing discontent in adulthood renders life unbearable, it becomes a personal responsibility, perhaps incited by a divine spark, to peel the layers obscuring the core self, the essence of a person…The trek can be arduous, but the results are nothing short of astounding: a solid sense of self unleashes confidence, inner wisdom, intuition, creativity and joy.

Sense of self was foreign to me, I was oblivious to the concept…as my awareness developed, it rendered it abstract. I now KNOW who I am and that I am worthy of attention, of care, of love, of compassion, of forgiveness, of time, of space, of pleasure… My trauma healing journey taught me that in my humanness, I am equal to others. I also have needs and desires, thoughts and opinions, likes and dislikes, time and capacity…

I finally understood I cannot outsource my happiness.

I learned how to cultivate a relationship with myself and now honor it on a daily basis with small acts of self love.

If this resonates with you and you need help embarking on your self discovery and connection journey, you can book your free discovery call, it would be an honor for me to accompany you on your journey back home to yourself.
