Familiar Faces: Paolo Terenzi from Tiziana Terenzi

I am always on the lookout for luxurious, niche products to try out, and I have a soft spot for fragrances, so when I was invited to attend a Tiziana Terenzi event, I felt I hit the jackpot!

With a two-generation history in essence distillation, perfumery and candle-making, Tiziana Terenzi is the brainchild of siblings Paolo and Tiziana and is dedicated to their father’s memory. With Paolo as the nose behind the fragrances and Tiziana the designer, each product from their line is an exquisite marriage of their combined talents; from outside in, each perfume bottle is a work of art! With a background in art and design, Tiziana has created exquisitely designed bottles, caps and packaging to house her brother’s magical creations.

 

 

Paolo aims to capture moments, multi-dimensional snapshots, in liquid form that leave people captivated and intrigued; each whiff of his scents tickles the senses and speaks right to the soul. From flying to the first time and visiting Brazil, to sailing to Turkey, and dancing in a masquerade in Venice, each perfume is an embodiment of a specific memory in a scent.

Paolo destills his own essences from natural and high-quality raw material that he obtains on his travels, and each perfume he makes is an extrait de parfum, containing 30% of that essence concoction. Therefore, each perfume is very strong, long-lasting and of limited production.

Tiziana Terenzi perfumes are so unique and different that I could not easily place them in the traditional perfume genres, and I could not pick favorites. I had to sniff each and every one, over several occasions, to really understand the perfumes and choose my favorites. I ended up finding 6 perfumes that resonated with me. Here are my picks:

Top notes: Green Leaves, Fresh Ice, Oxygen

Heart notes: Chinese Jasmine, Fern, White Amber

Top notes: Pineapple, Orange, Bergamot & Mandarin
