Josh Rosebrook Hair Care review, Serum Spray and Hair Cream

Quitting conventional hair products was a tough one for me. I have frizzy, curly and dry hair that is difficult to manage and keep tidy sans silicones. It took me almost 2 years of experimenting with clean hair-care products to find a hair styling regime that works, and the results are mind-blowing! My hair-styling heroes are the Josh Rosebrook Serum Spray and Hair Cream.

Now I have a confession to make, I’ve had both products for a while, but I could not make them work for me. Turns out I was just using them wrong; I was combining them with other products instead of together. Sounds like the most obvious thing to do, I know, but I don’t know why it took me so long! The difference it made to my hair is indescribable, and I can finally feel confident that I’m going to have great hair, everyday!

Josh Rosebrook Serum Spray Review - heat protectant

Josh Rosebrook Serum Spray

I initially bought the Serum Spray after it launched, but just recently figured out how great it performs! I use it on towel-dried hair as a heat-protectant, before rough-drying with my Dyson Supersonic. I can see the difference in my hair in comparison to using other clean heat-protectants, no matter how renowned their brands are.

I am in the process of growing out my grey hair, and I usually blow dry and style it twice a week. I can usually only go 2 months without a trim before my colored ends start to look frayed and stop behaving post-styling. Since using the Serum Spray, I have definitely seen less damage; I was able to go 5 months without a trim, and I actually only caved in because my hair was lacking form, not because it stopped looking tidy.

I have yet to try the Serum Spray as a scalp treatment, but I will report back when I do. I used to have an itchy scalp, which I seem to have under control due to my twice-a-week scalp massage.

Josh Rosebrook Hair Cream

I bought the Hair Cream ages ago when I first started my clean beauty journey, when it was still called the Styling Cream! It has a cream to oil texture and only the tiniest bit is needed. I used to use it as a heat-protectant on towel-dried hair, or as a finishing product, working it through blow-dried hair for a frizz-free finish. As time passed, I realized I could also use it on parched hair as a moisturizer – it makes the hair feel so soft without any heaviness. However, I realized the game changer for me was using it on dry hair, before heat styling; it’s what allows me to maintain my hairstyle for days without feeling the need for touch ups, even though I exercise and sweat almost daily!

The Josh Rosebrook Serum Spray and Hair Cream combination has put an end to my ultimate clean hair-styling quest – they are both holy grail material!
